Our charity work

At Wessex IT, we care… about businesses and people

We are extremely proud to have built Wessex IT into a growing business that is able to offer our corporate customers a wide range of effective IT solutions to help them run their own businesses optimally.

You may not know though, that we also invest time and resources to support a few charities that need a helping hand with their IT, and who can benefit from our expertise.

Read about how we have helped Brighton Toy and Model Museum, one of the World’s great toy museums, to get online! And how we support Living Waters Ministries – Tanzania, a Christian charity with a “7 Fold Vision”.

Getting the Brighton Toy and Model Museum online

If you aren’t familiar already, Brighton Toy and Model museum is a registered charity, dedicated to preserving toys for the future generations to witness. Their vast displays draw on guest collections plus a core collection of over ten thousand items!

Staffed mostly by dedicated volunteers, the museum also carries out vital restoration, research, and digitisation work, and operates a ~9000-page online encyclopedia and image library used by individuals and organisations, worldwide.

Wessex IT were introduced to the charity through a client and friend, and were delighted to be involved with the IT set up for the museum in November 2014. This involved providing hardware and setting up the internet so that the museum could communicate and promote online.

We have enjoyed supporting their valuable work since!

Due to the pandemic we have needed to postpone the upgrade we had planned in 2020, but it is iminent for 2021.

Living Waters Ministries Tanzania – Supporting their 7-fold vision

Living Waters Ministries Tanzania is a registered UK charity, raising money for children in Tanzania to access a better future. In 1998, the charity set out a 7-fold vision:

  • Education
  • Caring For Homeless Children
  • Caring For the Hungry
  • Training Leaders
  • Evangelism
  • Job Creation
  • MissionAfricanXperience, which involves team visits from from USA, Canada, UK, Germany + more.

Wessex IT, as sponsors, have been part of the journey; setting up the initial computer suite so the charity can communicate online, assisting with sending mailshots and setting up of Microsoft 365, which enables document and information sharing between supporting countries such as Germany and Canada.

In addition to our corporate work, director, Andrew and finance manager, Sandy, assist personally with raising money through the church and organising for Tanzanian-based representatives of the charity to visit the UK for speaking events to raise awareness of the valuable work being carried out.

We want to help

We are a caring team that want to help others to grow their enterprises – whether it is for corporate or charitable goals. Whilst we aren’t able to help every charity, we do try our best to help some – do let us know of any charities that could use our expertise in 2021.

We hope that you find these updates of interest and informative. You can, of course, unsubscribe if you’d rather not receive them.
