“Marty, where we’re going, we don’t need
roads copper wire broadband…”
Just like Marty in Back to the Future, we are all reliable on technology to get us to the future.
One of the most important technologies – not just for our home lives but for our businesses too – is our broadband connection. A business cannot afford to be disconnected from its customers or from the world as a whole for any period of time. That is why having reliable, fast broadband is a must for every business.
The end is nigh!
You might be aware that in a little over two years’ time, (2025), broadband delivered by landline telephone technology (copper wires) will be switched off.
The majority of the landline copper wiring was installed in the 1960s, over 60 years ago!
With this in mind, can we really expect it to be able to handle a modern world today which is becoming more and more demanding of our infrastructure?
The copper-based wiring is being replaced by broadband delivered by fibre optic cables. The advantage of fibre cables is that they are capable of carrying much more data at much higher speeds due to being able to operate at a higher frequency rate which enables greater bandwidth.
Not only does this mean more data can be transmitted, but there is the added benefit of decreased interference from other cabling therefore, increasing the reliability at which you and your business can connect to the internet.
What do you need to do?
We can help you identify which of your connections are affected by the forthcoming switch off. We can then offer guidance around which replacement service is the right fit for your business – and also make sure you’re not overpaying too.
No matter the size of your business we can help you to get the best deals, with the right service level agreements in place to ensure that your business is not left out in the cold.
And have you heard about Cloud Voice?
While we’re talking all things broadband, when you review your broadband options it’s also a logical time to consider if you would benefit from Cloud Voice.
Cloud Voice is our VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) service. Simply put it means calls are made over the internet rather than through a traditional phone line – which are all being switched off in 2025! Not only does Cloud Voice solve this problem, but it gives you far greater flexibility in how you stay in contact with your colleagues, customers and suppliers.
